Call for Proposals for P.A.V. People Against Violence SURVIVAL 2004 Worldwide Road To Recovery Conference

If you are an individual, agency, organization, that has experience, invented or observed new ways of handling the needs, concerns of people who have suffered from any form of violence and abuse or if you practice issues and techniques to teach learning and coping skills or if you know of great tried-and-true methods for creating and sustaining families and individuals, male, female or child that are survivors of these crimes, or if you would simply like to share your wisdom with survivors, professionals, and child advocates, please consider presenting at the P.A.V. SURVIVAL 2004 Worldwide Road To Recovery 3rd annual conference in OCTOBER 1,2,3, IN THE YEAR 2004
From now until August 1, 2004, we cordially invite agencies, individuals, organizations, foster parents, child welfare professionals, Social Workers,Victim Advocates, law enforcement, Mental Health professionals, therapists, and other advocates to submit workshop and institute proposals for SURVIVAL 2004 4th conference. The event will take place October 2004 in Hollywood, Florida.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO PAY PRESENTATORS, or offer any other discounts with travel or hotel stays UNLESS AIRLINES OR HOTEL AGREES TO DO SO, but if you are able to offer CEU's or Certificates, etc. you can charge per person attending your workshop who are looking for this type of documentation. So please if you are offering these credits get your information in a soon as possible so that we can make people aware of this and they can pay the fee for receiving them.
Workshops, which typically run 90 minutes, will be scheduled from Thursday morning through Saturday afternoon.
Guidelines
Each session August have up to three presenters, and if multiple presenters submit proposals to discuss similar issues, AOE August ask them to present as a panel. Presenters are expected to donate their time and expenses as a personal contribution to the Road To Recovery programs..
Proposed presentations should address topics such as models of post-legal services, the crimes of violence and abuse, self-empowerment, male and female issues...family and extended family issues, parent group activities, child advocacy, safety, self-defense, or other legal or recovery-related subjects. When preparing a proposal for the conference or for a workshop, follow the format below and provide a detailed outline, a statement suggesting what participants will gain from the presentation, and sample handouts.
Notice: If you submit a proposal for SURVIVAL 2004conference based on work or research done by someone else, you must obtain appropriate permission from the original researcher or author. AOE is not responsible for verifying the originality of submissions, and cannot be held accountable for presenters' copyright infringements or other violations of ownership rights.

Proposals should follow the format outlined below:

- Description for brochure--Descriptions should be 25 to 75 words in length, and give conference attendees a sense of what to expect from the presentation. AOE reserves the right to edit descriptions for length, content, and clarity.
· Content--Suggest your intended format (such as lecture, open discussion, panel presentation), and outline the material you plan to present.
· Intended audience--List parents, social workers, advocates, teens, etc., and include prior knowledge needed, if any.
